School Wide Positive Behaviour Support

School Wide Positive Behaviour Support (SWPBS) is a whole school program that is implemented to focus on the positive student behaviour.  At Wondai, we refer to this as our GOOD CHOICES. Like everything at Wondai, the purpose must reflect our beliefs. Our Responsible Behaviour Plan documents all SWPBS processes fully. A simple snapshot is pictured below.

Students at Wondai State School are explicitly taught positive behaviours in order to act responsibly, respectfully and safely.  The focus expectation and behaviour is modelled on parade each week, and the Principal is responsible for this.  When students display positive behaviour they are rewarded with tokens.  This is part of our Going for Gold RAPPS’ system. The tokens are added up throughout each term and students join clubs depending on how many tokens they have.  Each club level has a specific prize award. In 2015, the Going for Gold RAPPS’ system runs each term, and the Clubs are 100, 200 and 300! The SWPBS team is proposing a modified criteria for students on Individual Management Plans, to encourage all students to continually improve.

Our whole school community has come together to decorate the school with “Good Choices” murals displaying the school values, beliefs and rules.  All students assisted in designing and painting their murals – and gee they look fantastic!
